When we were children, our parents taught us to eat our vegetables and clean our plates because there were starving children in Africa. Unfortunately, even though we can now order a pizza that will arrive at our door within thirty minutes, we still tend to value our foods by their health benefits rather than simply enjoying them for what they taste like. We’re all guilty of feeling like we’ve made a healthy choice when we could have gone with the fried chicken and waffles and been completely happy. The key is balance – if you enjoy your meal but don’t feel weighed down after eating it, then congratulations, you just had a healthy meal!
